Venturing into its wild terrain, the lush wilderness of Kaziranga welcomes you with towering grasses and dense woodlands, where you might catch a glimpse of a rhino or a hornbill. Below, the Pelican Colony stretches its wings, while the playful elephants wander through the surrounding forests. Further along, you’ll find Majuli, the largest riverine island, which is home to ancient cultures and monasteries. Here, the mesmerizing tales and melodies of the Mishing people echo through the air, invoking a sense of the sacred and the divine.
Our tour representative will greet you at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati. After your arrival, we will transfer you to the hotel for check-in, followed by lunch. Once you’ve refreshed, we’ll head out to explore the bustling city of Guwahati, known for its cultural diversity and scenic beauty. You’ll visit iconic spots such as Dighali Phukri, a peaceful pond, Nehru Park, a lovely green space, and the Tribal Market, where you can experience the vibrant local culture.
In the evening, enjoy an optional river cruise along the Brahmaputra River, which offers stunning views of the river and surrounding landscapes. This relaxing experience will set the perfect tone for your Assam adventure. Afterward, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Guwahati, ready for another exciting day ahead.
After breakfast, we’ll continue exploring Guwahati, visiting Kalakhetra, a cultural center known for its classical dance performances, as well as several significant temples that reflect the region’s spiritual heritage. By 1:00 PM, we’ll have a revitalizing lunch before heading toward Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its population of the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. This park also hosts a variety of other animals such as elephants, Indian Bison, tigers, and migratory birds, making it a true wildlife sanctuary.
Upon arrival at Kaziranga, we’ll check in to your hotel for the night. You can take the evening to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings, as the park’s natural beauty is sure to leave you in awe. Prepare for a day of adventure and wildlife encounters in the coming days.
We begin the day with a thrilling Jeep Safari through Kaziranga National Park at 9:30 A.M., where you’ll have the opportunity to witness the park’s incredible wildlife up close. Keep an eye out for the iconic rhino, as well as elephants, tigers, and a range of bird species that inhabit this protected area. The safari provides an immersive experience in the natural habitat of Assam’s most famous animals.
After the safari, we’ll proceed with local sightseeing, which includes a visit to the picturesque tea gardens of Assam, where you can see the tea leaves being harvested and learn about the region’s rich tea culture. We’ll also stop by the Karbi Ethnic Village, Deu Pahar, and a local model village, offering a glimpse into the traditions and lifestyles of the local communities. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
We begin early with a memorable Elephant Safari in Kaziranga National Park, where you can experience the park from a unique perspective as you ride through the grasslands in search of wildlife. After breakfast, we’ll make our way to Majuli, the world’s largest riverine island, crossing the mighty Brahmaputra River by ferry. Majuli is known for its rich culture and is home to several Satras (Vaishnava monasteries), which serve as centers of learning, art, and spiritual life.
Majuli is not only a cultural hotspot but also a paradise for nature lovers. It is home to migratory birds and the indigenous Mishing tribal culture, which adds to the island’s charm. After arriving in Majuli, we’ll check in to your hotel for the night and prepare for a day of exploration in this enchanting island.
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a sightseeing tour of Majuli, focusing on the island’s unique Satras, which are not only religious centers but also storehouses of historical manuscripts and valuable cultural assets from the royal Ahom period. These monasteries play a vital role in preserving the ancient traditions of Assam. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the history, art, and festivals associated with these sacred places.
Following the visit to the Satras, we’ll make our way back to Jorhat, where we will check in to your hotel for an overnight stay. Reflect on your time in Majuli as you enjoy the calm surroundings of Jorhat.
We begin the day early with a drive to Sivasagar, the historical capital of the Ahom Kingdom, which ruled Assam for over six centuries. Here, we will visit Joysagar Lake, the largest man-made lake in India, and other significant monuments such as Sivasagar Sivadol, Rang Ghar, and Talatal Ghar, which reflect the grandeur of the Ahom dynasty.
After soaking in the rich history of Sivasagar, we’ll head towards Dibrugarh, known as the “Tea City of India.” Along the way, enjoy the picturesque landscapes of Assam’s tea gardens and lush greenery. Once we arrive in Dibrugarh, we’ll check in to your hotel, where you can unwind and relish the beautiful surroundings.
After breakfast, we will transfer you to Dibrugarh Airport for your departure flight, bringing your memorable tour of Assam to a close. Safe travels and farewell!
